Studies on the Sensitivity to antifungal agents and on the pathogenecity of Aspergillus Terreus and Asp. Oryzae Isolated from Otomycosis

Abstract
With strains of Aspergillus terreus and Asp. oryzae isolated from otomyeosis, the author has conducted he sensitivity test to antifungal agents and the p~~thogenicity test to rabbit for they evaluation of characteristics of isolated strains.
All strains, especially Asp. terreus, were highly sensitive to Fhenylmercuric acetate. Cycloheximide also exhibited a growth inhibitory action on both species at the concentration of routine experimental use. Trichomycin showed growth retartatory action more strongly against Asp. terreus than Asp. oryzae. The results observed by both microscopic and macroscopic methods were differ. distinctively, however, microscopic determination seemed to be more reliable.
Emulsions of several selected strains of both species were inoculated into t.ie rabbit skins. Eventhough some cases of intracutaneus injection showed slight red swelling, no case exhibited" any pathologic changes.
